Sao Paula: Former Miss Brazil Gleycy Correia passed away at the age of 27 after suffering complications from routine surgery to have her tonsils removed. The former beauty queen suffered a brain haemorrhage and a heart attack immediately after the operation. She died at a private clinic the other day.

Correia, who was crowned Miss United Continents Brazil in 2018, died after two months of falling into a coma. The reports said Correia underwent surgery in April, but due to some issues, the 27-year-old suffered from heavy bleeding that caused a cardiac arrest on April 4, and as a result of this, she fell into a coma. Correia’s body has been sent to a medical examiner for an autopsy.

Correia’s family pastor, Lidiane Alves, told news agencies, “We’re deeply saddened by this loss.” She was an amazing woman and much loved by everyone. It won’t be easy to live without her smile and shine. He further said that God chose this day to collect our princess. We know that she will be greatly missed, but she will now be brightening the sky with her smile. She fulfilled her purpose and left her legacy of love to us, he concluded.

She was born in Macae, a Brazilian city close to the Atlantic coast that is located 120 miles northeast of Rio de Janeiro. She began working at a young age, according to the reports, taking a position as a nail technician at a local beauty parlour before competing in the contest and winning the title of Miss Brazil.

Gleycy Correia was a permanent cosmetics expert who was from the city of Macaé in the southeast. She rapidly rose to fame on social media following her title victory. More than 55,000 people follow her on Instagram. After she passed away, her loved ones posted heartfelt condolences on the account.
