F.P. Report

LAHORE: Punjab government has decided to shift the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif to hospital from the Kot Lakhpat jail owing to his deteriorating health, on Saturday.

According to reports, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif is likely to be shifted to Services Hospital and directions have been given to beef up security at the hospital before the former prime minister is shifted.

Earlier the report of the medical board states that Nawaz Sharif needs to be shifted to hospital if his condition deteriorated.

It is pertinent here to mention that the medical board had sent the PML-N supremo’s medical report to the Home Department in which they recommended the former PM to be shifted to hospital.

According to details, the newly formed medical board carried out a medical examination of PML-N Supremo at Kot Lakhpat prison.

The instructions of medical board regarding shifting of Nawaz into a hospital were given considering his heart issues so that he can be treated properly with appropriate facilities.

Previously, a medical board of Jinnah Hospital Lahore had declared that “Sharif is not completely well and he should be shifted to hospital from jail to get optimal treatment for his heart complications.”

Sharif s daughter Maryam Nawaz said the report of the Jinnah Hospital medical board suggests that her father s disease has progressed and is life-threatening.

A special medical board of the Punjab Institute of Cardiology also examined Sharif earlier said he had vague symptoms of pain in both arms, particularly at night and numbness of toes.

Sharif was tried in three corruption case launched in September, 2017. He was first convicted and sentenced for 10 years in July last year in a case related to Avenfield properties in London. The Islamabad High Court granted him bail in the case in September.

He was convicted in the Al-Azizia case but was acquitted in the Flagship investment case in December.
