Four killed, dozen others injured in California school shooting

LOS ANGELES: As many as persons were killed and dozen others were injured including three children in a shooting incident at a school in a rural northern California on Tuesday.

Phil Johnston, Assistant Sheriff said to local media that the attacker was killed by police after the shooting, which began around 8:00 am at a home in Tehama County and continued at the Rancho Tehama Elementary School. Local media reported that the incident began as a domestic dispute that escalated.

As per the Salvador Tello, resident of Rancho Tehama told media that he was on his way to take my three children to school and saw a gunman open fire and killing a woman. He added that he reverse his truck and put down the children to make sure their safety.

Salvador Tello further added that the gunman was driving around and shooting randomly from his car.

Johnston, of the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office told media that, three weapons a semi-automatic rifle and two handguns had been recovered from the scene and adding that the victims were randomly targeted by the gunman in different locations.

He added that police have airlifted a number of students as we know that there are children and we need to take action for the safety of those school children.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 33,000 people die annually in the United States from gun-related deaths two thirds of them suicides.
