Four more matches decided in Zalmi Madrasa Cricket
PESHAWAR: Four more matches decided on the second day of the ongoing Zalmi Madrasa Cricket League being played here at Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.
In the early morning match Al-Haq Shamshers won the toss and invited Al-Hilal Challengers to bat first. Al-Halil Challengers while batting bundled out for just 47 runs with only Dawood made 19 runs and Bilal scored 14 runs, none of the other batsmen could cross the double figures.
For Al-Haq Shamshers Inayat Ullah claimed four wickets for just 10 runs and Irfan got two wickets.
In reply, Al-Haq Shamshers chased the target for the loss of no wickets after playing 2.2 overs with Ibad smashed an elegant knock of 22 runs, Nadeem smashed another cracking 19 runs. Both played some good batting and amused good number of spectators with their boundaries all around the ground. Thus Al-Haq Shamshers won the match by 10 wickets. It is the second victory of the Al-Haq Shamshers in the League.
In the second match played between Al-Wahda and Al Khair. Al-Wahda while batting first played well and scored a solid knock of 183 runs for the loss of two wickets in the 8.3 overs of the allotted 10 overs match. The two openers played a key role in steering team total to such height. Farooq smashed a superb knock of 79 runs off 20 balls with 10 towering sixes and four boundaries.
Opener Farooq also receiving thundering applauses from the sitting spectators on his elegant batting while he was also supported by opener Adil Khan who made 51 runs. Adil smashes four boundaries and three sixes. Jalil was un-lucky when he hit a superb knock of 46 runs off 18 balls with four boundaries and two sixes. Ali got two wickets for 19 runs.
In reply, Al-Khair bundled out for 37 runs only in 8.3 overs. Saeed made 8 runs and Mutahir scored 6 runs. Taimur claimed two wickets for 5 runs only and Idrees got one wicket for five runs. Thus Al-Wahda won the match by 146 runs.
In the third match Al-Fatah defeated Al-Mutahidoon by eight wickets. Al-Fatah won the toss and invited Al-Mutahiddon to bat first. Al-Mutahiddon while batting first scored 56 runs only for the loss of five wickets after playing 10 overs. Naveed scored 14 runs, Inzimam made 16 runs. Niamat Ullah claimed three wickets for just four runs. He got two wickets in his first overs on two consecutive deliveries but missed the hat-trick. Jalil took two wickets for 21 runs, Khalid got two for 23 runs.
In reply Al-Fatah chased the target for the loss of two wickets and won the match by eight wickets with Naimat scored 24 runs including two towering sixes, Qaiser made two wickets. Muhammad Arif took two wickets for 17 runs.
In the fourth match Al-Nujoom won the toss and invited Jamat-e-Islami to bat first. Jamat-e-Islami while batting first scored 80 runs for the loss of seven wickets with Sajjad made 27 runs including three boundaries, Tilawat scored 16 runs. Irfan Ullah claimed three wickets for 17 runs in his two overs spell, Luqman got two wiciekts for 9 runs only in his two overs.
In reply, Al Nujoom chased the target for the loss of three wickets in 8.4 overs with Umar smashed 30 runs. Sabir scored 29 runs, none of the other batsmen could cross the double figures. Wasif claimed one wicket for three runs. Al-Nujoom won the match by seven wickets.
