Free election only solution to all problems: ANP

F.P. Report

PESHAWAR: The Awami National Party spokesman and former senator Zahid Khan on Tuesday said that neither presidential form of government nor tabling a no-confidence motion in the parliament was the solution to the current crises. Talking to local journalists at Odigram and later addressing a party gathering at Hajiabad he said that a fresh, free and transparent election was the only solution to all problems faced by the nation. Zahid Khan said the Prime Minister’s recent visit to China had proved a failed attempt. He alleged that Pakistan had also lost its trust in Afghanistan, Iran and UAE.
The ANP leader said the parliament had become a rubber stamp with no powers. He alleged the government had lost its authority over the State Bank of Pakistan after its autonomy on the IMF dictation. He said the state sovereignty and nuclear weapons were also at stake as this incompetent government was not capable to deal with the world powers. The ANP leader said that terrorists were regrouping in parts of the country while the cases of target killings were on the rise. Khan said the government’s economical, foreign and interior policies had failed. Terming the PTI government as selected he alleged that the media and judiciary were also under pressure.
