KHOST (TOLONews): The Khost Department of Public Health, in collaboration with the private sector, has launched a series of free health camps across various districts of the province.
According to local officials, each camp provides free medical treatment to approximately three to five thousand patients.
One such one-day camp was set up at a school in Alisher District, where both male and female specialists provided medical services to patients.
Shirgul Zadran, deputy director of public health in Khost, said: “Initially, we selected areas where patients cannot easily access the provincial center. Our team includes pediatricians, gynecologists, surgeons, and other specialists.”
Abdul Hakim Zadran, head of the Khost Medical Association, stated: “This is the second time we are implementing this plan during the holy month of Ramadan. Our goal is to expand the program to all districts, and we may visit some after Eid.”
Residents of remote areas in Khost praised the initiative and urged authorities to address healthcare challenges in these regions more fundamentally.
Mazmil Afghan, a resident of Alisher District, said: “It’s great that people can benefit from the basic services this camp provides.”
Rasool Hasan Hosseini, another resident of Alisher District, said: “Organizing such camps is very beneficial for those in need and for people living in remote areas.”
Officials from the Khost Public Health Department noted that previously, dozens of patients were treated at a similar health camp in Zazi Maidan District.
