PARIS (TASS): French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian left on Sunday for a short visit to Qatar, where he will discuss with representatives of the country’s leadership the organization of new evacuation flights for the French remaining in Afghanistan. This was an-nounced on Sunday by the French Foreign Ministry.
“Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, is leaving for Qatar today. He will meet with all representatives of the Qatari authorities and <…> will discuss with them the conditions for the early organization of new evacuation operations in the interests of our compatriots, who still remain in Afghanistan, as well as for the Afghans, who are especially at risk, “reads the communiqué.
He will discuss with the Qataris various issues in the framework of bilateral cooperation between Paris and Doha, as well as “coordination and joint mobilization of the two countries in the interests of regional stability and security” in the context of the decisions taken in August 28 conference in Baghdad.
