JALALABAD (Ariana News): Exporters of fresh fruits and vegetables in Nangarhar said that they face many problems exporting their goods to neighbor country.
They said neighbor country has raised customs tariffs and also closes border from time to time.
They said these delays often result in the spoilage of fresh produce. These exporters ask the Islamic Emirate to solve this issue.
Officials of the fresh fruit and vegetable exporters’ union in Nangarhar also complain about neighbor country’s actions and said that they incur huge losses when exporting.
Meanwhile, Nangarhar officials said they are trying to solve these problems through dialogue with neighbor country.
“The neighbor country side has promised us that they will solve these problems through dialogue, but unfortunately, despite their promise, the route is still blocked. The Islamic Emirate tries to think of an alternative way to resolve the matter,” said Siddiqullah Qureshi, head of information and culture in Nangarhar.
Provincial officials also announced efforts to create cold storage facilities for storing fresh vegetables and fruits and said that by doing this, they can prevent the loss of perishable goods.
