Only gained in meeting with PM Abbasi, remarks CJP

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saiqb Nisar remarked that the meeting with the Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was fruitful and adding that he lost nothing in the meeting.

CJP Saqib Nisar said this while on Thursday, hearing the suo motu case regarding illegal construction in Murree. CJP while addressing the petitioners’ counsel Latif Khosa, to have faith in him and the Supreme Court.

He remarked that their job is to hear public complaints and people needs to have faith on the judiciary.

CJP statement came after the two-hour-long surprise meeting between the chief justice and prime minister, the Supreme Court spokesperson said Prime Minister Abbasi expressed keen interest in providing all possible assistance in revamping the judicial system of Pakistan as visualized by the chief justice.

A day later, on Wednesday, Chief Justice Nisar remarked that work is under way on the directives of the court and issues will be resolved soon especially after his meeting with the prime minister.
