Gas & Oil becomes first to introduce electric vehicle charging facilities

KARACHI: Gas & Oil Pakistan Limited (GO), the fastest growing Oil Marketing Company (OMC) in Pakistan has announced that it has become the first OMC in Pakistan to introduce Electric Vehicle (EV) charging facility at its retail outlets.

The first of these EV chargers, made by ABB Italy, the Swiss-Swedish multinational, has been installed at GO’s Company Owned & Operated Outlet, COCO-3 near the Expo Centre in Lahore. This was announced by ZeeshanTayyeb, Chief Operating Officer, GO.

As a responsible corporate entity, GO aims to be at the forefront of taking initiatives for the environment. EVs are making an entry into Pakistan and GO’s EV chargers will provide freedom to travel wherever our customers want to go while using this environment friendly mode of transport, stated Khalid Riaz, Chairman & CEO, GO.

Talking to GO customers at the inauguration event, Ammar Ali Talaat, Chief Strategy & Business Development Officer stated that GO plans to roll out EV chargers at key sites across the network including motorways and major national highways so that EV owners can travel through Pakistan without range anxiety, knowing that they will be able to charge at one of the GO retail outlets.
