F.P. Report

KARACHI: Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) spokesperson on Friday said that gas supply to Sindh’s compressed natural gas (CNG) filling stations to be resumed at 8pm instead of 8am on Saturday.

The company’s spokesman said that now the CNG station will open after 36-hour shutdown in the province. He said that the decision was taken due to shortage of gas in the system and to fulfill the demand of domestic and commercial customers.

Earlier, the SSGC had announced to resume gas supply to the CNG sector at 8 am on February 16.

It is pertinent to mention here that long lines of vehicles had been seen, on February 10, morning after CNG stations opened in Karachi and other parts of Sindh after 58 hours long shutdown.

The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) had announced shutdown of compressed natural gas (CNG) stations across Sindh on Saturday (yesterday).

The gas crisis had aggravated in Sindh as SSGC managing director on Saturday said that the gas shortfall has reached to 200 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd) due to cold weather.

The gas company chief had urged industries to close the factories in industrial zones two days in a week due to gas crisis.
