GDA kicks off sanitation drive

ABBOTTABAD: Galyat Development Authority (GDA) Sunday have started sanitation drive in Galyat with the aim to clean the area and also organized a walk to create awareness among the masses.

On the first day of the drive huge quantity of the garbage was collected from various tourist attraction spots of Galyat. Spokes person of GDA told to media that the prime objective of the drive is to provide a clean and congenial environment to the tourists. GDA also urged the locals and tourists to make sure the cleanliness of the beautiful Galyat.

Cleanliness drive would continue on daily basis till the collection of the whole garbage from all tourists places of the area. Garbage collection was a huge issue of the Galyat where was no proper place for garbage disposal, tons of garbage which was produced by the locals and tourists were spread at every ravine or open places, moreover tourist spot where usually tourists throw the remaining of the food items plastic shopping bags and rappers which not only creates the environmental issues but also make the ugly face of the beautiful areas.
