WASHINGTON: Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III announced today that the president has made the following nominations:

Marine Corps Col. Robert B. Brodie has for appointment to the rank of brigadier general.  Brodie is currently serving as executive assistant to the Deputy Commandant for Aviation, Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps, Washington, D.C.

Marine Corps Col. Michael A. Brooks Jr., for appointment to the rank of brigadier general.  Brooks is currently serving as special assistant to the commander, U.S. Special Operations Command, Tampa, Florida.

Marine Corps Col. Kevin G. Collins for appointment to the rank of brigadier general.  Collins is currently serving as director, Logistics Combat Element, Combat Development & Integration, Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps, Quantico, Virginia.

Marine Corps Col. Fridrik Fridriksson for appointment to the rank of brigadier general.  Fridriksson is currently serving as director, Tactical Training Exercise Control Group, Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Command, Twentynine Palms, California.

Marine Corps Col. Maura M. Hennigan for appointment to the rank of brigadier general.  Hennigan is currently serving as director, U.S. House of Representatives Congressional Liaison, Office of Legislative Affairs, Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps, Washington, D.C.

Marine Corps Col. Garrett R. Hoffman for appointment to the rank of brigadier general.  Hoffman is currently serving as chief of operations, White House Military Office, Washington, D.C.

Marine Corps Col. Stephen J. Lightfoot for appointment to the rank of brigadier general.  Lightfoot is currently serving as director, Aviation Combat Element, Combat Development and Integration, Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps, Quantico, Virginia.

Marine Corps Col. Andrew T. Priddy for appointment to the rank of brigadier general.  Priddy is currently serving as military assistant to the Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps, Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps, Washington, D.C.

Marine Corps Col. James A. Ryans II for appointment to the rank of brigadier general.  Ryans is currently serving as a military fellow, Council on Foreign Relations, New York, New York.

Marine Corps Col. David C. Walsh for appointment to the rank of brigadier general.  Walsh is currently serving as military assistant, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development, and Acquisition, Washington, D.C.

Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III announced today that the president has made the following nomination:

Navy Vice Adm. Frank D. Whitworth III for reappointment to the rank of vice admiral, and assignment as director, National Geospatial Intelligence Agency, Springfield, Virginia. Whitworth is currently serving as director of intelligence, J-2, Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.
