Germany given 6.4 Billion AFs aid to Afghanistan

KABUL: The Germany will provide 6.44 million AFs in aid to government of Afghanistan and the fund will be allocated to the Afghanistan Reconstruction Trust Fund (ARTF).

The Afghan government and the German KfW Development Bank signed a financial agreement in this regard on Thursday. Germany has contributed almost 47 billion AFs since the establishment of ARTF in 2002.

Head of German Cooperation at the German Embassy in Kabul, Uwe Gehlen, has said that it is Germany top priority to assist the Afghan people and helping the Afghan people to counter the poverty and stand on their own feet and we will continue our efforts of the reconstruction of Afghanistan.

Finance Minister of Afghanistan, Eklil Hakimi has appreciated the support of German in assisting the Afghanistan in rebuilding process by contributing large amount in the ARTF

Afghan government will use the budget for developing and implementing projects in the areas of good governance, agriculture, rural development, infrastructure, as well as human and social development. In 2016 alone, 9.3 million AFs benefited from such projects, press release stated.
