Getz trains doctors for execution of COVID-19 testing protocols

KARACHI: Getz Pharma has donated around 15,000 anti-body testing kits to the Sindh government and is training its doctors and paramedics to successfully implement COVID-19 testing protocols across the province.

The company has already trained around 100 doctors and paramedics who will be master trainers for conducting the COVID-19 screening tests across the province. These trainings were conducted at the company’s head office in Karachi and at Sindh Emergency Operation Center (EOC) where Dr. Ahmed Ali, Technical focal person Sindh Polio was present. Getz Pharma has also sent its paramedics to train master trainers of the government in Karachi’s Southern District. The company will soon extend these trainings to other provinces.

In these trainings, the company experts train the doctors on the complete COVID-19 screening protocols which include administration of anti-body testing kits, data gathering and interpretation, handling consent forms and other data tools.

Earlier this week, Managing Director and CEO of Getz Pharma, Mr. Khalid Mahmood met Sindh Health Minister, Dr. AzraPechuho and assured his continued support during these unprecedented times. The company has donated around 1.9 million Hydroxychloroquine tablets, 15,000 testing kits and over 1500 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the Sindh government. It is also supporting the research on the fast-track development of COVID-19 treatment in Pakistan.

These efforts were applauded by the Chief Minister of Sindh, Mr. Murad Ali Shah in the meeting conducted with the top management of Getz Pharma at the CM house. He discussed further plans to help those affected by the pandemic and offered his support to fast-track all the processes for the treatment of COVID-19 in Pakistan.
