Girls call for reopening of schools

GHOR (TOLOnews): Some female students in Ghor province called on the Islamic Emirate to reopen schools for girls.

These students said that by closing the schools, the illiteracy level will increase in the country.

“When we learn, it means our society will progress and when we are banned from schools it means society is doomed to failure.” Said Raziya, an eleventh grade student.

Some of teachers and clerics said that education is obligatory for men and women.
“We call on the Islamic Emirate to reopen schools for girls: our society will progress and we will be saved from illiteracy,” said Temur Shah Rahimi, a lecturer.

“How many know that religious and religious obligations are necessary and education is also obligatory,” said Mawlwe Shojauddin Mohammadi, a cleric.

“It is a fact that the closing of girls’ schools is a big issue, and the Islamic Emirate is not against education, they are trying to find a good solution to facilitate schooling for men and women,” said Mawlwe Mohammad Hamas, acting minister of information and culture in Ghor.

It has been more than one year since schools for female students above grade six have been closed, and there is still no sign of the reopening of the schools.
