HAFIZABAD: The day was dawned with special prayers for the integrity and solidarity of the country, early liberation of Kashmir and Palestine, elimination of extremism and terrorism and world peace in almost all the mosques.
Glowing tributes were paid to the Father of the Nation Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah for achieving the unique distinction to create separate homeland for the Muslims of undivided India after great struggle in most of the educational institutions in the dsitrict. The speakers called upon the masses particularly younger generation to pledge to work hard and maintain unity and discipline to make the country invincible fortress of Islam. The students sang national songs to pay tributes to the Father of the Nation. The schools and college students also performed tableau.
Christian community observed Christmas with their religious fervor. The priests during their sermons called upon their community to express their solidarity with the nation and work hard to make the country strong and stable. They also prayed for the integrity and solidarity of the country. The district police have made foolproof security arrangements at all the 33 churches in the district to maintain peaceful conditions. The churches were illuminated during the night.
