Government initiatives for Afghan peace process hailed

LAKKI MARWAT: Awami National Party district president advocate Sadruddin has welcome the Pakistan’s government initiatives for Afghan peace process, saying that durable peace in Afghanistan was inevitable for progress and development in the entire region. This said while speaking at a party meeting in Abakhel. The meeting was convened to elect new office bearers for union council Abakhel chapter of party where a large number of workers were in attendance.

On the occasion, the ANP activists elected unopposed Sher Zaman as president and Abdul Razzaq as general secretary for Abakhel union council. They also unanimously elected other office bearers including senior vice president Sadullah, vice president Rizwan Ahmad, deputy general secretary Noor Zaman, finance secretary Javed Khan, information secretary Ishfaq Ahmad and salar Hussain Ahmad. Sadruddin said that the successful peace talks between US and Taliban would help to bring lasting peace to the war torn country Afghanistan and usher a new era of prosperity in the region. He hailed the initiatives made by government to facilitating dialogue between Taliban and United States and said that peace in Pakistan was linked to peace in Afghanistan. He criticized PTI government for poor performance and said that the incumbent rulers had failed to deliver during last five months.

Meanwhile, ANP UC Kot Kashmir chapter also elected new office holders during a meeting on Tuesday. They are Inamullah Khan (president), Irfanullah (general secretary), Hasan Khan (senior vice president), Haji Fareedullah (vice president), Ikramullah (deputy general secretary), Akbar Zaman (joint secretary), Izzat Khan (finance secretary) and Khursheed Khan (information secretary).
