Governor hails Cadet College Kohat performance

KOHAT: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Eng. Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has appreciated the performance of Garrison Cadet College, Kohat and said, “a goal oriented education is the only barometer to gauge the altitude of any nation’s progress. “I am delighted to know that a galaxy of cadets from all the provinces of Pakistan as well as Azad Kashmir and FATA are collectively busy in educational pursuits in this institution”, he remarked.

Addressing as chief guest at the 22nd Parents Day ceremony of the institution at its premises on Thursday, the Governor said, “cadet college Kohat is serving the cause of national integration, cohesion and unity which is a call of time under the prevalent environment”. Maj. Gen. Nauman Zakria, Chairman, Board of Governors of the college, Commissioner Kohat Division Mutahar Zeb, Principal of the college Brig. Nadeem Akhtar was also present on the occasion besides the parents of the cadets and elders of the area.

Beyond doubt, the Governor said, education is a foundation for nation building and achieving a prosperous future for a country. “It is educated and well-motivated youth who always play a pivotal role towards the achievement of national goals and objectives”, he said.

The Governor while advising the cadets; said that their parents were rendering a great deal of sacrifices for their education and they must come up to their expectations. To achieving the goal, he added, they must devote all their energies towards acquiring knowledge which is essential for them and the country’s prosperous and bright future as well. “You are the future leaders of Pakistan with tremendous responsibilities on your shoulders and you must strive for excellence in education; inculcate national values and steer the beloved motherland to the path of progress and prosperity”, the Governor added.

Referring to the points highlighted by the Principal of the college in his welcome address, the Governor said, indeed in a very short span of its 24 year life, the College has emerged as an ideal institution and I am impressed with the overall performance and progression of it. He congratulated the Principal and the college staff for their devotion, commitment and hard work towards the rapid development of the Garrison Cadet College Kohat.
