Govt approves 700 dental surgeon posts

PESHAWAR: Young Doctors Association organized all Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dentistry Convention here at Khyber Collage of Dentistry Peshawar on Wednesday.

Dr. Murtaza from YDA said and that still in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in most of the district headquarter hospital and Teaching Hospital as well as in RHCs there was no one dental surgeon available.

He further said that in all cadre medical specialities service structure was approved by the provincial government despite dental surgeon and demanded to approve the service structure for dental surgeon.

He lamented that the provincial government has approve 700 post of dental surgeon across KP but still the posts were vacant in all DHQ and THQs hospital.

Dr. Rashid said that quackery practices were commonly practice in dentistry and the Health Care Commission should take concrete steps to stops the quackery practice.

He further added that improvement and creation of Post Graduate Traning slot in every speciality of dentistry while paid M.Phil and MDS program in public sector institute of dentistry of KP.

He further demanded that PMDC registration of KIDS (Kohat Institute of Dental Science Kohat) with immediate effect while completion of under construction projects of Bacha Khan Dental College.

He requested to separate accommodation for all dentistry students and post graduate trainees while up-gradation of Ayub Dental Section to Dental College with dean and the newly constructed facilities to be made functional.

While talking to the convention Dean KCD Professor Dr. Ghlam Rasool said that the current provincial government will soon approve the policy and service structure for the dental surgeon.

He further said that already government has approve 700 posts across KP for dental surgeon and each year’s 250 dental surgeon will be appointed in all DHQs and THQs hospital.

On the occasion Young Doctors Association representative from all over Khyber Pakhtunkhwa participate in the convention and demanded the provincial government to give equal rights to dentistry like other medical specialities.
