Govt approves amendment in contractual employee regularization

LAHORE: Punjab Government approved an amendment in the regularization of contractual employees announcing today (May 10) that an employee will be able to get the permanent work status with a three year contract now.

A four year timeframe was maintained before to earn a permanent work status at a government job.

On the recommendation of concerned department regarding law and regulation, he conditioned Punjab’s contractual officers and employees for three year service rather than four years of service. Every contractual employee in Punjab will be able to benefit from it.

According to private channel, any employee or officer working a government job will earn the permanent work status according to Labour & Employment Law and Regulations 2018.

Cabinet Wing issued Minutes of Meeting on the decision of Chief Minister Punjab and even announced the approval.

Regarding the permanency of contractual employees, regulatory department will issue a notification in few days.

Chief Minister Usman Buzdar approved the amendment in the previous session of Cabinet Committee.
