Govt asked for relocating technical institute

PESHAWAR: Office bearers of Khyber Students Union (KSU) have asked Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Federal Minister for Water and Power, and Sector Commander Arshad Taufiq to relocate the Government Bara Dogra Poly Technical Institute from Tehsil Jamrud to Dogra area of Bara Tehsil and ensure uninterrupted supply of power to the area.

The Government Bara Dogra Poly Technical Institute had been shifted from Dogra area of Bara Tehsil to Jamrud Tehsil of Khyber Agency owing to dilapidated law and order condition in volatile Bara Tehsil, said president of KHU M. Sadiq Afridi while speaking at a news conference on Thursday at Peshawar press club. The students studies had been greatly suffered after the institute was shifted.

He estimated that only 21 students belonging to Tehsil Bara are currently studying in government Bara Dogra Poly Technical Institute, since it was shifted from the ara to Jamrud Tehsil which could be enhanced if it is again re-shifted to its original area. He said that now security situation in the area is far better from its previous situation and things are normalized after the successful Zarb-e- Azab operation and time is ripped for moving the government Bara Dogra Poly Technical Institute to its original place.

Meanwhile, he also highlighted the issue of load shedding in Bara Tehsil and said that the is undergoing one of the worst kinds of power outage with 23 hours prolonged break down. He alleged that political administration with the connivance of Bara grid station head, Zakaullah and Tahir Jamal have diverted all the electricity of the area to industrial units after receiving lump sum amount as bribe.

He said that currently 19 feeders are operational in Bara grid station wherein 11 feeders diverted to industrial units which are providing uninterrupted electricity to the industrial units while depriving local masses of electricity.

He demanded of the Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Federal Minister for Water and power, and Sector Commander Arshad Taufiq of relocation of government Bara Dogra Poly Technical Institute from Tehsil Jamrud to Tehsil Bara and supply of uninterrupted electricity to the Dogra area of Tehsil Bara.
