Govt commits to digitize press clubs: Barrister Saif

MARDAN: Barrister Saif Ali Khan, Advisor to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa here on Thursday said that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf provincial government has taking steps to digitize all press clubs of the province with the purpose to combat the new emerging challenges.
The advisor to CM Mr. Saif Ali Khan expressed these views while talking to journalists during his visit to Mardan press club to congratulate its newly elected office-bearers. On his arrival, he was welcomed by the president Musarat Khan Aasi, General Secretary Imran Younas and other members of the press club.
On the occasion, he claimed that the PTI provincial government had made policy for digitalization and social media and now they were going to implement across the province. He said that common man would be able make his access easily to the government steps after the implementation of said policy.
Saif Ali khan said that the provincial government was committed take measures for the welfare and betterment of journalists. He said that press clubs of the province would be equipped with libraries having variety of books especially including relevant books of journalism and general knowledge. He went on to say that they were going to start professional and research programs for new young journalists of the province so as to make them capable to cope the new coming challenges.
‘‘We are taking steps to provide plots to journalists which is the utmost requirement of every media-person’’, he added. He said that journalists had been playing vital role for the resolution of people’s problems as they were bridge between masses and authorities concerned. Being the frontline defender, many journalists were martyred in their line of duties, he added.
