Govt delaying FATA merger, says Sherpao

Peshawar: Provincial Chairman Qaumi Watan Party Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao has said that the federal government using delaying tactics in the merger process and playing with sentiments of the people of Fata by hindering the mainstreaming process and asked the federal government to ensure the Fata-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa merger as early as possible.

He was addressing a Public meeting here at Union Council Abazai Tehsil Tangi District Charsadda on Saturday, earlier inaugurating.

He said that Qaumi Watan Party always supports the interest of the general public and due to that people are joining hands with them with every passing day.

He said that all the political parties were mutually agreed and had been struggled hard for the rights of the tribal people and it was the times to take practical steps instead of wasting time.

He said that the Qaumi Watan Partystruggle would be continued for until and unless did not fulfilled its promises for providing equal rights to the people Fata who are also the Pakhtoons live on other side with a divided line.

He said that the Fata merge with Khyber Pakhtunkhawa is the only solution to bring revolution changes in the lives of the people based there in the tribal belt.

He said that uniting Pakhtoons in Pakistan would usher an era of peace and prosperity in the country.

He criticized the provincial led government that they did nothing practical for the betterment of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa.

“Due to the incompetency of the provincial government they failed to advocate in better way the province to get rightful shares in the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and National Finance Commission (NFC) while wasted the precious time of the public on non issues that aggravated the sense of growing deprivation among the masses, Sikandar Sherpao lamented”.

He said that before the Imran Khan himself on every flat forum had criticized the federal government for the Metro Bus by calling it a costly jangla bus project and the wastage of the public money but now he himself had launched the same project on a bigger cost with untimely and unwise steps.

He said that the provincial led Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf government instead of fulfilling its change promises had done nothing during the four and half years and had greatly perturbed the lives of the people with developmental project that could not be completed in their tenure.

He said that the only aim of the Bus Rapid Transit bus service launch was for elections interest not for public interests that shows their only bad faith.

“Those who claimed to have brought about the change in the health and education systems had failed to deliver on ground.
