RAWALPINDI: The education policy of Punjab Government has ensured enhanced female enrollment particularly in public sector schools of the province said Chairman, Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) and Member Punjab Assembly Engineer Qamar ul Islam.
He said, the Punjab Government was giving special attention to the education of girls due to which the enrollment percentage of girls in government schools has improved and even noticed an upward trend in remote areas.
The Chairman said the scholarships of billions of rupees have been given to needy and intelligent students and many of them have completed their education and joined the professional life.
The Chairman expressed these views at prize distribution ceremony held at Government Girls High school Aarazi, Rawalpindi. Principal Fauzia Naheed, teachers and a large number of students were present on the occasion.
Eng. Qamar ul Islam said that the female students in 16 districts of South Punjab were encouraged to get education through ‘Khadim-e-Punjab Zewar-e-Taleem Program’ for which billions of rupees were spent. They are being provided a stipend of Rs1200 per month after ensuring 80 percent attendance in school, he added.
He said, intelligent students in Punjab are provided opportunities to get quality education. Poor and deserving students after revolutionary measures taken by the Punjab government particularly in the field of education, are being encouraged and provided financial assistance so they could not quit education due to financial constraints, he added.
Fauzia Naheed addressing the participants said that the women have proved their talent in every field of life and due to solid steps taken by the Punjab government, the girls enrollment in educational institutions has increased considerably.
She said, female students outshine boys in examination of educational boards every year and their success ratio has also improved.
