Govt hasn’t fulfilled its promises, says Siraj

F.P. Report

ATTOCK: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq has said that the government has not fulfilled any of its promises and the masses could not be fed on false assurances. He was talking to the media after addressing JI Youth members Ijtema at Attock on Tuesday. JI chief for northern Punjab, Dr Tariq Saleem was also present on the occasion.

Sirajul Haq said there had been no legislation in the parliament so far and the institution meant for law making was witnessing abuses of which the masses were fed up. He said that since the takeover by the present rulers, price hike and unemployment had increased and the people were disappointed. By approaching IMF, the government had violated its pledge, he said adding that the rupee had lost its value while dollar was soaring high.

The JI chief said the masses had been sick of the working of the past governments and had given their mandate to the party talking of a change. The PTI leadership had talked of making the country like the state of Madina, provision of ten million jobs to the youth and building five million housing units but there had been no progress in these directions, he added.

Sirajul Haq said the fresh IMF programme would bring a new wave of price hike and add to the problems of the people. He stressed upon the Prime Minister to reject the IMF’s pressure of ‘Do More’ in order to save the people from the flood of price hike. He said the popularity graph of the government was going down but the rulers were not realizing that. He said it was necessary for the government to deliver in order to justify its continuation.
