ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister’s Spokesperson, Musadik Malik has said that the government has planned to establish nine Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in all parts of country representing the federation, including Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that the decision was taken in the Cabinet meeting on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) which was presided over by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
Musadik Malik further added that several projects of CPEC including power and water supply, construction of Gwadar airport, free port were discussed in the meeting.
He added that Pakistan wants to continue the gas pipeline project if the international sanctions are lifted from Iran as it is very important for Pakistan as we are facing shortage of energy in the country and were not able meet our requirements in this regard.
