F.P. Report
ISLAMABAD : Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly (NA) and PTI leader Omar Ayub Khan said on Tuesday that the present government must admit that it did not have the people’s mandate, and, therefore, it must resign and pave the way for fresh elections.
Speaking to reporters in Sargodha, Omar said that all the chaos being witnessed in the country these days was due to the present regime, which had been installed by the establishment. “There is lawlessness in the country. This is because there is no rule of law,” he said, adding that the situation in Balochistan was worse. There a member of the provincial assembly (MPA) and his convoy were stopped by armed men, who also snatched weapons from them. “Still, the government has the audacity to say that all is well in the province,” the PTI leader wondered.
“Not all is well in Balochistan. The province is burning. For God’s sake, realize the gravity of the situation,” he implored.
The opposition leader went on to say, “The present government has weakened the country by eating it from within.”
“This is my message to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to show mercy on the nation and hold fresh elections.”
