PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Local Government, Shehram Khan Tarakai said on Wednesday that government has no plans to transfer funds for local governments to Members of Provincial Assembly.
He was speaking to a delegation, led by Nazim Town 4 Haroon Sifat, of local representatives at his office and said that funds allocated for local representatives neither be transferred to any department or elected members.
The meeting with delegation was attended by Secretary Local Council Board Khizar Hayat Khan, Naib Nazim Town 4 Muhammad Zafar, Opposition Leader Muhammad Ijaz and other councilors.
The delegation informed the minister on their problems and other issues they have been facing.
Speaking on the occasion the Minister for Local Government Shehram Khan assured the local councilors that their problems would be addressed on priority and said the PTI provincial government wanted to strengthen the local bodies system.
