KABUL (Khaama Press): Afghanistan’s Acting Deputy Prime Minister, Mawlawi Abdul Kabir in a meeting with Kabul Governor, Sheikh Mohammad Qasim, said that establishing a peaceful environment is the joint responsibility of the people and government.
Deputy PM Abdul Karim stated that establishing a secure environment is not the sole responsibility of the security forces. Ordinary people’s active engagement and cooperation play a vital role in this regard, according to the statement.
Sheikh Mohammad Qasim, Kabul governor shared details on the security, social and economic situation of Kabul, and said that the security situation in Kabul has improved to a great extent. He further added that administrative and security officials are working extremely hard to restore peace and security in the capital city of Kabul, and avoid threats from terror groups.
Besides appreciating security personnel’s efforts, Abdul Karim provided some instructions and recommendations to the Kabul governor to avoid possible threats from insurgent groups in Kabul and other provinces of Afghanistan.
This comes as the security situation in Kabul remains unchanged to a greater extent. Since the overthrow of the previous government in August 2021, the Islamic State Khorasan militants (ISIS-K) have intensified their attacks in Kabul and other parts of Afghanistan.
Over the past 18 months, IS-K insurgents have targeted foreign embassies, diplomatic missions, hotels, and educational institutions, claiming the lives of scores of innocent civilians.
Furthermore, anonymous murders and target killings have also occurred in the heart of Kabul in the recent past. Besides all the propagation, security remains a major challenge for the de facto authorities of Afghanistan among other issues.
