PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Adviser to Chief Minister on Elementary & Secondary Education, Ziaullah Bangash said on Wednesday that an allocation of Rs.166 Billion has been proposed for the education department in the upcoming budget.
Speaking at a seminar in connection with budget and allocations he said that 70 percent of the educational budget would be spent on the girls education and 30 percent on the boys education.
Deputy Speaker KP Assembly Mahmood Jan, Minister for Information Shaukat Yousafzai, Members of Provincial Assembly (MPAs) Taj Muhammad Tarand, Mian Sharafat Ali and other officials were present on this occasion.
Speaking on the occasion Ziaullah Bangash said that they have been working on the budget since February and have allocated a big chunk of educational budget for the construction of 300 primary and 200 middle schools for girls.
“Educational system would also be upgraded in Kohistan, Torghar and other less literate areas along with tribal district areas,” he said and added that the provincial government was planning to introduce a new policy which would define weight of bags for the students.
