Gujrat: Three female students attacked with acid

GUJRAT: Three men threw acid on the three female students in Dang district of Gujrat on Thursday morning.

The three girls who are said to be student of University of Gujrat and they were waiting at a bus stop to go to university when suddenly men came on motorcycle and threw acid on them.

According to reports, two of the victims were sister and the other is their friend.

The victim students were shifted to nearby Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Teaching Hospital where they are being treated at the burn unit.

One of the attackers was captured by passers-by and later handed over to the police. A search for the remaining two suspects is underway.

Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of the incident and has asked the district police officer to submit a report.

According to a report released by the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) earlier this week, 143 women were attacked with acid or were set on fire in Pakistan last year.
