KABUL (TOLOnews): Gulghondi hill in Parwan province is witnessing hundreds of visitors from across the country during Eid days. Visitors to Gulghondi considered the Judas Tree Hill a suitable place for recreation and entertainment during special days.
Mohammad Aref, a resident of Parwan who came to this place for recreation with his family, talking about the lively atmosphere of Gulghondi, said: “The natural beauty that exists in Gulghondi hill of Parwan and the pleasant air without dust and pollution, made it the best recreational place where families choose this area and come to Gulghondi in Charikar city.”
“We came from Kabul to Gulghondi to see the Judas trees, and it’s a very acceptable and safe environment, the best place for recreation,” Mohammad Zarif, another resident of Parwan, told TOLOnews.
Visitors in Gulghondi are happy to engage in recreation and entertainment with peace of mind.
“We came from the province of Logar, Gulghondi hill is a very scenic and very popular place,” said Saddam, a resident of Logar. “It’s Eid and it’s the season of Judas trees, everyone comes here, and we also come for buying and selling,” said Faiz Agha, a vendor at this recreational site.
Gulghondi hill, located in the west of Charikar city, the center of Parwan province, is one of the scenic and recreational areas named in 1945 by Bahai Jan, one of the poets of Afghanistan.
The Judas Tree Festival, which is held annually on this hill, was recognized officially eleven years ago by the Ministry of Information and Culture.
