Gunmen torch 3 telecom towers

KABUL: Anti-government gunmen torched three towers of different telecom companies in the Muhammad Agha district of Logar province, officials said Monday.

The anti-government gunmen attacked the towers of MTN, Afghan Wireless, Etisalat and Areeba telecom companies in the Ghaznikhil area of Muhammad Agha district, setting all its equipment on fire, said Salim Saleh, spokesman of Logar governor. He said no one suffer casualties in the attack, adding investigations were ongoing.

The Taliban have forcibly stopped or restrict telecom network in Kunduz, Helmand, Kunar, Nangarhar and some other Afghan provinces, creating problems for the people.

Similarly, the Daesh fighters have also forcibly closed mobile phone network in different districts of Kunduz province.
