F.P. Report

LAHORE: Opposition leader in Punjab Assembly, Hamza Shehbaz has criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s move to increase salaries and perks of members of Punjab Assembly.

Hamza Shehbaz said this on Saturday while talking to media persons. He said that the government has been complaining of lack of funds and on other hand it has increased salaries of the provincial lawmakers.

He added that he opposed the increase in the MPAs’ salaries and perks.

Earlier, on March 14, Prime Minister Imran Khan had expressed deep disappointment at the Punjab government’s decision to increase salaries and perks of the provincial lawmakers including the chief minister.

In a tweet, PM Khan said, he was ‘extremely disappointed’ at the decision of Punjab Assembly regarding increase in salaries and privileges of the MPAs, ministers and the chief minister.
