Hamza winning spree continue in Nazim Peshawar Badminton

PESHAWAR: National Junior Champion Hamza Ibrahim’s winning spree continued on the second day of the ongoing 6th Nazim Peshawar KP Badminton Championship being played here at Tariq Wadood Hall on Sunday.

In the Men singles event Hamza Ibrahim recorded victory against Osama of Mardan in the straight sets, the score was 21-19 and 21-17. Basit of Swat recorded victory against very senior player Kashif of Bannu in straight sets, the score was 21-13 and 21-18, Shehzad of Peshawar upset Usman of Peshawar by 2-0, the score was 21-17, 21-16. Hasnain of Mardan beat Shehzad Ullah of Charsadda by 21-16 and 21-18, Tahir Khan of Police beat Nawaz Khan of Lakki Marwat by 21-17 and 21-19, Haroon of Police beat Ghayas of Kohat by 2-0, the score was 21-19, 21-16, Masood of Police beat Zeeshan of Peshawar by 2-1, the score was 17-21, 21-19 and 21-17, Tehsin Ullah of Bannu beat Wajid of Malakand by 2-0, the score was 21-19, 21-15, Nadeem Khan of Peshawar beat Khalil Khan of Swat in a thrilling three sets battle. The score was 21-23, 21-19 and 26-24. Both Nadeem Khan and Khalil Khan gave each a strong resistance in the thrilling battle witnessed by capacity spectators with their cheering hands.

Hayat Ullah, a qualified badminton coach of KP Badminton Association, hailing from KP Police beat Haseeb of Peshawar by 2-0, the score was 21-19, 21-18, Sabtain Ul Haq of Abbottabad beat Muntazir of Haripur by 2-0, the score was 21-17, and 21-18, Zohaib of Police beat Musaqid of Kohat by 2-1, the score was 16-21, 21-17 and 21-18. Ihtisham of Peshawar beat Nawaz Khan of Dir Lower by 2-0, the score was 21-17 and 21-18, Shoaib Riaz, a national ranking player, from Bannu defeated Hamza of Swat by 2-1, the score was 21-14, 17-21 and 21-19.

Earlier, Assistant Director Youth Aziz Ullah Khan was the chief guest on this occasion and before the start of the match the players were introduced to him. He also lauded KP Badminton Association, District Govt Peshawar, District Sports Officer Jamshed Baloch for extending a help hand in holding the event wherein around 150 male and female players from all 17 districts of KP are taking part.
