Hanafi says society that abandons its values cannot move towards development

KABUL (Agencies): Deputy Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi, speaking at a religious and academic seminar in Kabul University, termed the role of professors in the society and the education of the country’s youth important.
During his speech, Mr. Hanafi said that a society that forgets its values cannot take steps towards development. Teachers the only protectors of the society, who guide the children of the nation to the right path and the path of Islam, he added.
Our country has lost most of its educators and educational centers as well as other infrastructures in the decades-long war that imposed on Afghans, Mr. Hanafi said.
He said that the Islamic Emirate will not hesitate to provide any kind of help and cooperation in order to strengthen the education system of the country to achieve self-sufficiency.
Meanwhile, Acting Higher Education Minister Mawlavi Neda Mohammad Nadeem, speaking at the ceremony said: “The purpose of holding this seminar is to open the door for negotiation and discussion with professors, so that they could share their ideas with each other to better serve the country’s higher education sector”
He said that the Islamic Emirate is committed to the education of the country’s youth in the light of its religious and national values and noted that they will also extend these discussions to the educational institutions in provinces.
The spokesman of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Zabihullah Mujahid, talking about the media’s role, said that Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan supports neutral media outlets that shares the problems of the public with officials.
He said that the media also obliged to do their work by maintaining neutrality according to the country’s laws and regulation and considering national interests and religious values.
