Haqqani appointed information minister, Khairkhwah Wardak governor

KABUL (Pajhwok): In a government reshuffle, former Laghman governor Sheikh Sher Ahmad Haqqani has been appointed Minister of Information and Culture, while former minister Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwah has been named governor of central Maidan Wardak.

Zabihullah Mujahid, chief spokesman of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA), wrote on X that these changes were made based on a leadership decree.

He said that the former governor of Laghman, Sheikh Sher Ahmad Haqqani, has been appointed Minister of Information and Culture, and the former Minister of Information and Culture, Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwah, has been appointed governor of Maidan Wardak.

Additionally, the former governor of Maidan Wardak, Qari Mohammad Bakhtiar Mahaz, has been appointed governor of Laghman; the former deputy of the Central Corps, Mullah Mohammad Hafiz Mujahid, as governor of Farah; and the former governor of Farah, Maulvi Ghawsuddin Rahbar, as deputy of the 313 Central Corps.

Sources added that Qari Mohammad Nasim Izat, former commander of the second brigade of the 205 Al-Badr Corps, has been appointed deputy governor of Jawzjan province.

Haji Sher Ali Jandullah, former chief of the third police district of Kabul, has been named police chief of Paktia province, while Mullah Abdul Shakoor Baryalai, former commander of the first brigade of the 209 Al-Fath Corps, has been appointed commander of the second brigade of the 205 Al-Badr Corps.

Meanwhile, Maulvi Nooruddin, former deputy governor of Jawzjan, has been appointed commander of the first brigade of the 209 Al-Fath Corps, and Maulvi Mohammad Omar Mukhles, former police chief of Paktia, has been named chief of the third police district of Kabul.
