Head-on collision in Helmand kills 11

KABUL (Amu tv): A traffic accident along the Herat–Kabul highway in Helmand Province in southern Afghanistan left 11 people dead and four others injured, according to the Taliban’s provincial police department.

The Taliban police command in Helmand said in a statement that the crash occurred in the Karez area of Washer District and involved two buses. One of the buses was traveling from Kabul to Herat and another was heading in the opposite direction.

The department said the carelessness of drivers created the tragic incident.

The injured were transported to local health facilities for treatment, the statement said.

Deadly road accidents are common across Afghanistan, often attributed to poor road conditions and driver negligence.
