Heavy rain disrupt daily life in twin cities
ISLAMABAD: Heavy rain with gusty winds was continued in the twin cities and adjoining areas and it lashes out the area, because of heavy rain the rainwater entered in the premises of Benazir Bhutto International Airport on early Friday morning.
After several hours the authorities were not able to drain out the rainwater which was creating problems to the passengers as their luggage and other carrying materials were completely wet.
The rainwater also entered in the houses and bazaars of the area and affeceted the number of shoppers, and it also disrupted electricity supply in the twin cities for several hours and army have been on alert in Rawalpindi in case of any emergency and they were seen in Rawalpindi streets.
Emergency was also imposed in the hospitals to avoid any unexpected situation after the heavy rain in the area.
Pakistan Meteorologist Department (PMD) in its weather forecast predicted that in the next 24 hours rain along with gusty wind is expected in different parts of the Upper KP including Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan divisions and upper Punjab areas including Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, and Lahore divisions, Islamabad, FATA and Kashmir.
