Heavy snowfall recorded in Astore

F.P. Report

ASTORE: Heavy snowfall in upper areas of Astore turned the weather chilly while making life difficult for the local people. According to Met Office, 4 to 5 feet snow was recorded in the upper areas of Astore in Dewsai, Qamri and Mini Marg and about 1 to 2 feet in the areas of Pareshing and other adjacent valleys.

Although the district administration has started clearing roads but still the local people were facing difficulties in buying daily use commodities. In the wake of blockage of roads due to heavy snowfall the shopkeepers had increased rates of different items including vegetables and edible commodities. The people have requested local administration that besides clearing the road they should also take measure to keep the prices in control.
