Hockey tournament ends in Timergara

TIMERGARA: The first Qazi Hussain Ahmad hockey tournament concluded here at rest house ground Timergara on Sunday, the day of fifth death anniversary of the late JI leader. A total of 16 teams from all over the district participated in the tournament. The event was organized by ‘Dir Hockey Academy'(DHA) to pay tribute to the services of late Qazi Hussain Ahmad for Islam and Muslim Ummah.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa finance minister Muzaffar Said advocate was the chief guest on the occasion. District Lower Dir Nazim Muhammad Rasool Khan, district sports officer Bahadar Said, Tehsil nazims Humayun Khan and Imranuddin advocate and a large number of locals were also present on the occasion. Albadad Hockey Club defeated Dir Hockey Academy and lifted the winner’s trophy.

Speaking on the occasion Muzaffar Said and Muhammad Rasool Khan shed light on the life of Qazi Hussain Ahmad and paid glorious tribute to the late JI leader. They lauded the role of organizing committee for revival of the national game. The chief guest announced Rs 50000 for organizing committee and distributed trophies among the players
