F.P. Report
Additional District and Sessions Judge South has directed police to register case under section 154 in Model-cum-Actor Humaira Asghar’s death.
The Additional District and Sessions Judge South has disposed of a petition filed by Advocate Shahzaib Sohail regarding the discovery of model actress Humaira Asghar’s body, directing the police to register a case under Section 154 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
As per the report, the court issued its verdict on the petition seeking the registration of a murder case in connection with Humaira Asghar’s death.
The court ordered the police to register a case under Section 154 and record statements from the deceased’s family members. The court further directed the police to proceed in accordance with the law and register a case if the evidence supports it.
At the previous hearing, the police submitted a report stating that they had contacted Humaira’s family.
The report mentioned that the actress’s post-mortem had been conducted, and the police were awaiting the final forensic report to proceed further.
The petition argued that Humaira Asghar died on October 7, but her phone remained active until February 2025. The phone was active, but calls from a makeup artist went unanswered, and the WhatsApp profile picture was deleted afterward. The petitioner requested that the makeup artist, Humaira’s brother, and others be included in the investigation.
Additionally, the police report mentioned blood samples collected from the washroom and room. The petitioner claimed that Humaira Asghar was murdered and urged the court to order the registration of an FIR.
The investigating officer had stated that a case would be registered if sufficient evidence was found. The SSP South and SHO Gizri were made parties to the petition.
It may be noted that the body of Humaira Asghar was found on July 8 in a residential building on the fourth floor of Ittehad Commercial, Defence Phase 6, Karachi.
