Hussnain elected unopposed president of SCCI for 2021-22

PESHAWAR: Hussnain Khurshid Ahmad, Imran Khan and Javed Akhtar have been elected unopposed as president, senior vice president and vice president of Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) respectively for the next term 2021-22.
The announcement was made by the Election Commission during its meeting held here on Thursday. Members of the Election Commission, Malik Niaz Ahmad, Abidullah Yousafzai and Haris Mufti were present during the meeting.
According to the election commission, Hussnain Khurshid Ahmad, Imran Khan and Javed have been elected unopposed as president, senior vice president and vice president respectively as no one submitted nomination papers against them.
The newly elected office bearers of the SCCI will take charge of their office on October 01.
During the SCCI’s elections for executive committee, held on September 20, in which, the Businessman Forum from Corporate Group, Hussnain Khurshid Ahmad, Farhad Asfandyar, Muhammad Arshad Siddique have secured 235 votes each, while Minhajuddin from the same group polled 231 ballots and Pervez Khan Khattak remained successful by obtaining 230 votes.
Similarly, for Associate Group from Businessman Forum, Imran Khan Mohmand obtained 792, Javed Akhtar 788, Ejaz Khan polled 772 votes, Ghulam Hussain secured 767 and Naeem Qasmi remained successful by obtaining 740 votes respectively.
Muhammad Ashfaq was already elected unopposed on a vacant seat of Bannu Township while Mubarak Bagem was also elected unopposed on a women reserved seat.
The formal announcement of newly-elected presidents and executive members will be made during the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM), which is scheduled to be held on September 30, 2021.
