‘I don’t want to put Sarfraz in any controversy’ says Moin

KARACHI (Monitoring Desk): Pakistan’s Former Test cricketer and coach of Quetta Gladiators Moin Khan on Saturday said that he didn’t want to create any controversy before their crucial matches ahead in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) that’s why he avoided sending Sarfraz Ahmed in captain’s press conference at National Stadium Karachi.

“I know it’s a captain’s press conference but due to the current situation I decided to come in front of media instead of Sarfraz,” said Khan.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Pakistan cricket team’s management had decided to give rest to their regular captain Sarfraz in ODIs against Australia which raised many questions.

To a query about giving rest to Sarfraz before the all-important World Cup, Khan said that the team management must have thought something before taking such a decision.

“I think the team management have some strong plans and hopefully the things will turn rightly for them,” said Khan.

On the other hand, Khan is confident for his team to finish the things well for them this time around. “Our team is strong and all of our foreign players have also travlled to Karachi which will make a difference for sure,” he said.

Quetta Gladiators will face Karachi Kings on Sunday (March 10) in a high-octane clash at newly renovated National Stadium. Gladiators have already qualified for the playoffs while Kings will be looking to make their mark.
