IAP apprises CEO Pesco about industrialists’ issues

PESHAWAR: A delegation Industrialists’ Association Peshawar (IAP) held a meeting with chief executive officer of Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) Engr Akhtar Hamid Khan in Wapda house.

Members of the delegation apprised the CEO Pesco about industrialists’ issues. A statement issued here on Friday stated that the delegation headed by Chairman Industrialists Association Peshawar (IAP) Standing Committee on Pesco Riaz Arshad while other members include the association senior vice president Haris Mufti, vice president Farhad Asfandyar, senior vice chairman IAP Standing Committee on Pesco Malik Niaz Ahmad, the association member Usman Elahi and secretary Wasiullah Khan.

Members of the delegation during the meeting presented number of proposals for resolution of the industrialists’ issues, through which demanded appointing SDO EI as member of the IAP standing committee on Pesco while devising mechanism in extension of bills payment by reviewing methods/policy, being adopted other provinces for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The delegation called for uniformity in the billing cycle by following the procedure that had been adopted for Gadoon Industrial Estate.
Riaz Arshad while speaking on the occasion highlighted the issue regarding NEPRA rule on disconnections, emphasizing that no connection should be disconnected due to a one-month bill default.

The IAP committee head urged that PTW activities should only be conducted on Sundays, twice a month, and in two shifts. Furthermore, he emphasized timely communication of PTW schedules to the focal person for notifying units about expected power outages, utilizing SMS notifications.

The Pesco chief assured early resolution of bifurcation of the 11 KV Olympia Feeder, aiming to energize the feeder within one week. Engr Akhtar Hamid informed that there are only two linemen available for 24 hours at Sub-Division Offices IE and assured appointment of additional three linemen.

The Chief of PESCO directed the Manager of Commercial PESCO to resolve audit-related issues.

The Manager of Commercial has requested a list of affected parties along with their consumer numbers to facilitate resolution of the matter, the meeting said. During the meeting directions have been issued that a vehicle will be issued by the CEO strictly for official use.
