MUMBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has named legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar as the Global Ambassador for the upcoming World Cup 2023, which is scheduled to begin on Oct 5.
Tendulkar, who represented India in six world cup events, would bring trophy to the stadium before the opening match between England and New Zealand, said media reports.
He will also formally announce the commencement of the mega cricket event.
