LAHORE: Zainab Abbas, a renowned Pakistani cricket presenter, is all set to take the stage at ICC Men’s World Cup 2023, starting on October 5 in India.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has picked the Pakistani sports reporter as presenter for the upcoming mega event.
The 35-year-old also shared her feelings after she was selected for the position. Taking to social media platform X, she wrote: “There was always intrigue on what lies on the other side, more cultural similarities than differences, rivals on the field but camaraderie off the field, the same language & love for art & a country with a billion people, here to represent, to create content & bring in expertise from the best in the business”.
“Humbled to be presenting in India at the Cricket WC2023 for the @ICC again, a journey away from home of 6 weeks starts now,” she concludes.
In May 2019, Zainab Abbas became the first woman sports reporter and commentator to cover the ICC 2019 World Cup from Pakistan.
