ICC WC Qualifiers: Afghanistan defeats UAE by 5 wickets with 93 balls remaining

HARARE: Afghanistan defeated United Arab Emirates by five wickets and 93 balls remaining during their second appearance in the ICC World cup Qualifiers Super Sixes stages. 

The match was played at Harare in Zimbabwe and while batting first the Afghan bowlers once again shined together with the top and middle order batsmen to secure a victory with a difference of 5 wickets and 93 balls remaining.

UAE won the toss and elected to bat first but their batsmen could not stand against the Afghan bowlers and scored only 177.

Rashid Khan took five wickets and Dawlat Zadran three wickets respectively.

On the batting side, the Afghan batsmen played well on the middle order despite losing the opening batsman, Mohammad Shahzad, during the initial overs of the game.

However, Gulbadin Naib remained not out on the top order after scoring 74 runs along with Najibullah Zadran who scored 6 runs and remained not out to help secure a victory by 5 wickets during the 34.4 overs of the game.
