ICC WC Qualifiers: Hong Kong defeats Afghanistan by 30 runs

KABUL: Afghanistan Cricket team continuous their bad and faced humiliating defeat from the Hong Kong on Thursday during the ICC World Cup qualifiers match by 30 runs.

It was the third consecutive loss of the Afghan team in ICC World Cup Qualifiers which follow losses against Scotland and Zimbabwe.

The Afghan team won the toss and elected to field first.

Hong Kong set a good total of 242 runs in limited 50 overs with the loss of eight wickets. Mohammad Nabi and Mujeeb Ur Rahman take three wickets each.

The target and overs of the game was reduced after the match was affected by rain and Afghanistan needed 226 runs from 46 overs as per the D/L method.

In reply, the Afghan batting line was collapse and only managed to score 195 runs from 46 overs with the loss of nine wickets. Dawlat Zadran scored 40 runs from 30 balls and remained the highest scorer of Afghan side.
